Surgery

Surgical procedures are performed on a daily basis by all our wonderful veterinarians. Brudine has two sterile surgical theatres, which are fully equipped with gaseous anaesthetic machines and a large range of anaesthetic monitoring equipment.

All surgical procedures are completed under the safest possible anaesthetic condition. Information regarding the anaesthetics performed at Brudine Vet is available on our website.

Pets coming in for surgery are examined prior to their procedure. All patients receive pain relief before, during and after their procedure. If you would like to book your pet in for a surgery, such as desexing, please contact our reception staff so we can schedule a vet to give your pet a check over.

Routine procedures: Desexing is required by ACT pet ownership laws, and can be done any day of the week by any of our talented vets. Desexings are one of the most common procedures we perform in veterinary practice, however we pride ourselves on providing thorough care and monitoring for each individual.

Soft Tissue Surgery: includes tumour removals, wound stitch-ups, skin flap repairs, oral surgery, nasal surgery, eye-lid surgeries, and skin fold surgeries.

Abdominal Surgery: may include foreign body removal, gastropexy, intestinal biopsies, tumour removals, and cystotomy.

Orthopaedic Surgery: Fracture repair, ACL (Cruciate ligament) repair such as the TTA procedure; Medial Patella Luxation stabilisation surgery.

Dentistry: Details on our routine dentistry, tooth removal or any other dental procedures can be found on our dentistry page.

To ensure your pet experiences a full and safe recovery from their surgery, we provide a complementary recheck after their procedure.
